Crew Health Alert – Appendicitis
Appendicitis is one of the top 5 illnesses P&I clubs receive as claims. It is also one of the more frequently misdiagnosed illnesses. As a potentially life threatening illness, this is to the detriment of best patient care. Therefore, both Gard P&I and West of England P&I have published guidance to assist seafarers in identifying and dealing with shipboard cases of appendicitis.
